Michael Orozco focuses his entire practice in complex commercial litigation, criminal defense, and personal injury claims at both the federal and state level.  He has been lead counsel in over 40 trials, many of them jury trials, in both federal and state court, in both criminal and civil proceedings.  He has represented multi-national corporations in complex civil matters, individuals charged under federal and state criminal statutes, and people injured in catastrophic accidents suffering from permanent and debilitating injuries.  Michael believes that every case is different, and there is no common road to success other than aggressive and proactive representation.

Michael has achieved tremendous success in New Jersey as well as New York, where his is also admitted.  For example, he successfully accomplished the following: (1) two back to back hung juries in New York federal court in one of the highest profile first amendment cases in recent history; (2) dismissal of all charges involving the alleged possession of five kilograms of cocaine; (3) dismissal of first degree aggravated sexual assault charges; (4) sentence of only two years  for a defendant subject to nearly 20 years of incarceration after successfully arguing for a departure from applicable federal guidelines; (5) dozens of six figure settlements for people injured in auto accidents, slip and falls, and medical malpractice, and; (6) judgment for nearly $400,000 for a client after a complex legal dispute.

Prior to becoming a partner at Bailey & Orozco, LLC, Michael operated a successful solo practice in Newark, concentrating in personal injury, business formation and representation, and municipal court matters.  He has represented over 300 individuals and businesses in municipal court matters, hundreds of felony cases, and settled well over 200 civil matters.

In addition to being admitted in the states of New Jersey and New York, Michael is admitted in numerous federal courts around the country.  He frequently travels across the country to give his clients first hand assistances in their legal matters.  He has over ten years of legal experience, beginning with a judicial clerkship for the Honorable Thomas O’Brien, where he saw numerous trials first hand and assisted in crafting legal opinions regarding issues of law.
